Community support

O.M.A is proud to have been able to support through donations of product or money, various charities during our 28 years of existence. I would like to highlight a few charities that we have supported.

Movember
Relay for Life
Surf Life Saving Victoria
Footy Day Colours

We are always ask to support organisations around the community and I believe it's important for everyone know what we do to help those less fortunate that ourselves.

O.M.A is proud to have been able to support through donations of product or money, various charities during our 28 years of existence. I would like to highlight a few charities that we have supported and will continue to support whilst we can.

As most people would be aware I have participated in the Movember challenge for the past couple of years. Along with O.M.A's donation and support from many other work associates, we raised approximately $4000.00. This money has been raised for men's health, such as prostate cancer research, over the past couple of years. We have had a few family and friends who have faced or a dealing with cancer, anything we can do to help is worth it.

My wife and I also participate in and sponsor the Geelong leg of relay for life. Jenny has run the 24 hour relay and the kids and I have assisted with a relay team, O.M.A has made a donation to support the team.

Last year we made a small donation to Irabina, a local organisation that assists families with children who are dealing with Autism. Irabina Childhood Support Services do a fantastic job with these kids. We are now supporting them with a fund raising luncheon prior to this year's grand final, see details next page. I encourage staff to get involved.

We also support the Vermont Lions club who do some great work in the community. My father Rod is heavily involved in all their projects and we give where we can, from selling Lions cakes and lollies to entering a team in the golf day. The Lions golf day supports children with Cerebral Palsy . CPEC is the Cerebral Palsy Education Centre in Mount Waverley and the Vermont Lions are proud to be associated with the centre. The donations from this event go directly to the kids and I personally am touched by the work this centre has achieved.

There are a few more charities that we support from time to time, including my favourite, Victorian Surf Life Saving. We also particiate in the fight against cancer with Footy Colours Day.

Right fit for the environment

O.M.A Shopfitting wanted to reduce the environmental impacts from its business operations, especially production of its Point of

Sale (POS) units. In addition, it wanted to operate a more environmentally responsible business.

For the Design Victoria Business Immersion project, O.M.A was partnered with Centre for Design (CfD), a research-based consultancy with extensive experience in sustainable outcomes. Read more...
